Boxing Legend Mike Tyson Warned That He Could Die In Upcoming Boxing Match Against YouTuber Jake Paul
Jake Paul will be the favourite to beat Mike Tyson when the rivals meet in the boxing ring in Texas in November.
Mike Tyson has been warned Jake Paul looked as if he could "kill" someone in a recent training session.
Heavyweight legend Tyson will take on YouTuber Paul in Texas in November despite being 30 years older than his rival. The pair were due to meet two months ago but the fight was postponed when Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles.
He insists he will be fit and healthy for his first professional fight in 20 years but concerns have repeatedly been raised as to whether the 58-year-old should be allowed to climb through the ropes. And WWE legend Hulk Hogan has admitted he fears for Tyson after watching Paul train.
Speaking to Paul's brother Logan on his podcast, Hogan said: "Your brother's too strong, bro. He's strong. Last night, as soon as I saw him set the guy up with the left, he kept throwing the overhand right, I was like, 'Oh my God, he's going to kill somebody. No, I mean really. It was scary. I love Mike to death, I don't want him to kill Mike, Jesus."
The elder Paul brother replied: "He's like really, actually super f***ing strong. He doesn't look like it - maybe he does look like it a little bit- but like the weight he pushes in the gym is f***ing impressive. No seriously, and he has a left hand now which he looks like is firing off."
This latest warning comes as promoter Eddie Hearn hit out at the fight, despite his fighter Katie Taylor starring in the co-main event in a rematch with Amanda Serrano. “What on earth are we doing? I’m lucky enough to have a business where we don’t need to do that, and I never will do that,” he told the Daily Mail. Anyone that thinks that Tyson should be in the ring right now either doesn’t have his best interests at heart or is an idiot. "
Mike Tyson left the sport of boxing, which was, what, 20 years ago, I don’t know, something like that. You honestly think that a fighter that was shot to pieces 20 years ago should now be coming back? I know he is only fighting Jake Paul, but it doesn’t matter. Jake Paul’s a powerful kid. He trains every day. He can punch."
The fight, which will be held over eight two-minute rounds, will now take place on November 15 at the At&T Stadium in Texas.
